Annual Apple Pie Bake-Off

Think you make the best apple pie in town? Put your crust to the test at the Faire on the Square's Annual Apple Pie Bake-Off!

THE DETAILS

• Who can register? The bake-off is open to Watertown resident amateur bakers only, 18 years of age or older.

• What are the guidelines for the pie?

  • • Each participant may only submit one pie. Pie must be entered in the name of the person who baked it.

    • All pies must contain a bottom crust - crust tops are optional/baker's creative choice. 

    • Pies may not contain added fruit, or raw/uncooked eggs.

    • Crusts and filling must be made from scratch.  No store brought crust, dough, or canned fillings may be used. 

    • Pies must not require refrigeration before serving. 

    • All pie contestants are required to use a disposable pie tin for a 9-inch pie.  Pies & pie tins will not be returned.   

• How will submission and judging work?

  • • Pies must be dropped off between 10-11AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Saltonstall Park.

    • A recipe must accompany your pie (please do not write your name on the recipe print out/pie tin).  All recipes must be printed out (not written) with the ingredient list. Submissions will not be accepted without the recipe/list of ingredients (measurements not needed). 

    • Your entry will be assigned a number when delivered for judging, this allows for anonymity during judging. No new entries will be allowed on the day of the contest - all participants must have a completed pre-registration on file by September 4, 2026.  

    • The submitted pies become the property of the Watertown Faire on the Square.

    • Winners grant permission to use their name & photo for marketing purposes.

    • Prizes awarded to first place and runner up.
